  • $112.4 million verdict against Medtronic
    Williams represented a surgeon-inventor who was cheated by medical device giant Medtronic, achieving the 2nd largest verdict in Indiana history.

  • $14.5 million defamation verdict against State Farm
    Williams represented a roofer wrongfully accused of insurance fraud by State Farm, securing the largest defamation verdict in Indiana history after proving State Farm withheld and altered evidence.

  • $3 million recovery for medical device injury
    Williams secured compensation for a former school bus driver injured by a defective Cook Medical IVC filter.

National publications including USA Today, the Indianapolis Business Journal, Law.com, and the Indianapolis Star have reported Joe's trial successes. 

Educational Excellence and Early Recognition

Joe earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he received the Tennessee Bar Association's Access to Justice Law Student of the Year in 2004 for his dedication to legal issues confronting those in need.

Founded in 1950, the American College of Trial Lawyers comprises the top trial lawyers in the United States and Canada. Fellowship extends only by invitation and only after careful investigation to trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose careers reflect the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of fifteen years trial experience before consideration for Fellowship.

This honor places Joseph Williams among fewer than 5,800 Fellows across the United States and Canada, representing the pinnacle of the trial bar and recognizing not only his courtroom skills but also his commitment to the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
